Boris Johnson's pledge to boost the NHS with another 50,000 nurses secured headlines following the Conservative Party manifesto launch, but the nursing figure was disingenuous when it included 19,000 nurses who already work in the NHS but are considering leaving.
Piers Morgan told the Cabinet member on GMB that it was "complete nonsense" to claim that there would be 50,000 more NHS nurses in ten years, when 19,000 of that figure includes existing NHS nurses who are currently working.
